WISDOM ABOUT GENERAL LIVING

QUOTE: "You are a product of the choices you make in life."

DELIVERED TO/THROUGH:  Thomas W. Pohl (circa 2003)

CONTEXT OF THE REVELATION: I was at work one day wondering why my boss was like he was, miserable, grumpy and a pain in the you know what. The Holy Spirit spoke up and said, "You are a product of the choices you make in life."

APPLICATION OF THE WISDOM: Find out what the Word of God has to say about it, as it is written:

"The entirety of Your word is truth..." (Psalm 119:160)

The choices you make in life can have a profound effect on your life and the lives of others. Just look at Abraham's decision to give God a helping hand by going into his wife's handservant Hagar to have a child with (Genesis 16). Hagar's child Ishmael was the father of the Arabic people and we are living with the consequences to this day.

The Word of God does have something to say about making choices and their significance. Carefully consider and meditate on this famous scripture:

"I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your decendants may live; that you may love the Lord your God, that you may obey His voice, and that you may cling to Him, for He is your life and the length of your days; and that you may dwell in the land which the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them." (Genesis 30:19-20)

This is just one of many scriptures in the Word of God that deals with choices and their consequenses. The Book of Proverbs alone contains dozens of such examples. I strongly recommend reading it for further enlightenment regarding this subject.

WEEKLY PROVERB

"To know wisdom and instruction, To percieve the words of understanding, To receive instruction of wisdom, Justice, judgment, and equity; To give prudence to the simple, To the young man knowledge and discretion – A wise man will hear and increase learning, And a man of understanding will attain wise counsel, To understand a proverb and an enigma, The words of the wise and their riddles. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, But fools despise wisdom and instruction."
(Proverbs 1:1-7)
