"RSS SYNDICATION"Written By: THOMAS W. POHL
MAY 31, 2006 IntroductionMany website owners are looking for new ways to promote their website and draw more people to their site. One of the newest and most popular ways is through RSS syndication. What is RSS and What Does It Do?RSS is an acronym that currently stands for Really Simple Syndication. It is a way for a website to syndicate it's content, such as articles, to other sources and help lure new visitors to the originators website. It also allows a person to gather RSS feeds from several sources and be able to view them in one place via an RSS reader. How Can RSS Syndication Benefit My Website?RSS syndication can bebfit your website by enabling you to syndicate your website's content to syndication services which distribute your RSS feeds to a much greater audience than you would be able to reach otherwise. In designing your RSS feeds you can give the reader a tidbit from an article that is located on your website and add a link to that article on your website that the reader can go to to read the entire article. When someone does this, it brings a new visitor to your website and enables you to hopefully make a new transaction. RSS syndication services will also indicate whenever your RSS feed is updated so you never have to resubmit your feed. ConclusionAs you can see, RSS syndication allows you to reach a much larger audience than you could on your own and helps bring more traffic to your website. |
